In 1914, Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell started a Scouting program based on Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book stories. Take the Cub Scouts on a safari and help them discover fun and adventure in the wilds of Scouting. Learn why Africa is special to our founder Lord Baden-Powell. Find out how the Jungle Book story connects to Scouting. Use it and its characters to highlight den meeting games, crafts, and costumes for the pack meeting. Learn about the things you need if you are going on a safari and how would you survive. What do Scouts in Africa do? What are their uniforms like? Take a den trip to a local zoo, animal rescue facility, or wildlife refuge.
The volunteer committee is working on updating these resources with the most recent advancement changes that occurred in 2017 and include the addition of girls and Lions. Jungle-themed placemats can be to used as a gathering activity to help promote day camp. Print one-sided to two-sided. Before printing, insert the date, time, location and web URL of your district day camp on page 2.

Jungle Theme Song Book
The songbook should be printed front to back and then cut in half. The cover should be customized with the camps name on the cover and the district Facebook page and website on the back cover before printing on card stock paper. Staple the book at the fold.
